The following are examples of some of the consultation services we are able to facilitate. Please download our service brochures (.pdf) (click on the name next to the brochure icon) to learn more about each service we provide:
Service Project Example 1:
On-site Interpretation
Interpret Site L.L.C. can assist in the content and creation of signage and interpretive site planning for archaeology sites. We can assist you with content creation, choosing the right sign frames, cases and virtual exhibit tie-ins. We can also help facilitate finding appropriate and accurate artist reconstructions and incorporating indigenous perspectives.
Service Project Example 2:
Temporary Exhibition
Interpret Site L.L.C. can help plan and develop small archaeology temporary or traveling exhibits as they relate to an archaeology collection. This can be a great addition to a preservation re-rehabilitation project. Also the National Park Service (NPS) encourages Certified Local Governments when receiving funding for archaeological survey to include curation. Archaeological collections and accompanying data and records resulting from grant-assisted work must be made available for scholarly research by qualified professionals for use in research, interpretation, preservation, and resource management needs. As appropriate, collections should be made available to the public through museum display or other means. NPS allows for the creation temporary exhibits relating specifically grant assisted program operations, accomplishments, or results.
Service Project Example 4:
Re-Imagining Exhibit Space with Consultation
Interpretation practices have changed over the decades. Often older interpretive exhibits included overt or a subtle colonialist perspective. Most importantly Native or descendant groups perspectives are lacking in the public displays. When a museum or repository is ready and willing to create a more accurate perspective we are here to help facilitate these changes - from planning to implementation. We can scale our consultation services based on the needs for this process.
Service Project Example 5:
Collections Re-Housing for Permanent Curation
Preparing an archaeology collection takes time and effort. Often this is conducted after the laboratory analysis is completed, yet often with archaeology projects - curation is forgotten. This oversight often means that projects did not include the archival materials or time to repackage and inventory the collection for delivery to an approved curation facility. We can assist with this task - both for new collections as well as those forgotten "found in collections" items. Give us a call today to obtain an estimate that can include cataloging, inventorying, labeling, archival packaging, and cabinet or open shelving.
Our aim is to achieve maximum public benefit and to provide information, knowledge, and insight into the human past while honoring and consulting with descendant communities.
